Sascha Pallenberg

Sascha Pallenberg is self described as “Sascha Pallenberg (潘賞世) is a Techblogger living in Taipei who’s constantly traveling between Asia, the US and Europe. In addition to this Sascha provides keynote addresses about mobile computing and is just Gung-ho about technology.”

In addition to being one of the most successful tech bloggers in the German language, he’s also a heckuva nice guy, and was well up for a headshot session backstage at this year’s CeBIT Global Conferences held in Hannover, Germany a few weeks back.

One of Sascha’s trademarks is his wide ranging collection of baseball caps. To be honest, I’ve never seen him without one. I asked him about this during our session, and wondered if I could get him to ditch the cap for a shot.

We nailed down a solid image with the hat, but I wanted to know what was under it. I asked, and without missing a beat, Sascha took the cap off to reveal this long(ish) hair. And I KNEW I had to feature this.

Combine this new discovery with my new Fuji X-Pro2, which features a flash sync at 1/250th of a second, and all the elements for a stop motion image were in play. For this shot, I simply asked Sascha to make one fluid motion from floor to ceiling, and let that hair fly.

We captured this image together in one shot, and I have to say, it’s one of my favourites to date.
